VISION:

    To provide a technology-rich academic and research environment that maximizes the collaboration potential between faculty and students, thus enabling them to attain the highest levels of excellence as professional educators in Information Technology.

MISSION:

   To create, disseminate and apply fundamental knowledge at the intersection of human systems and information technology through  e-governance. 

 To fulfil this mission, the department will:

  • Conduct and disseminate research on Information Technology that will improve the quality of life of the citizens of India and world.
  • Prepare its graduates for positions of leadership as professionals and as citizens, while making special efforts to provide educational opportunities for a broadly diverse student body; and
  • Provide service that responds to the needs of large and small business, governmental agencies, other departments, Professional societies and other organizations that may benefit from the expertise of its faculty and students.

SHORT TERM GOALS:

  • To make the IT Branch as best among all the Branches in the college by securing University ranks.
  • To develop as a role model for e-governance by doing e-governance projects.
  • To make the branch as a centre for excellence and research.
  • To provide skills in demand like CCANA, CNAP, NEAP, NSAP training among the student.
  • To conduct AICTE sponsored Staff Development  Program on "Current Trends in BIOMETRICS" by establishing a BIOMETRICS lab.

LONG TERM GOALS:

  • To provide universal access to information technologies for all members of the college community and  provide the support and experience needed in a range of technology applications and environments likely to be encountered in the teaching profession.
  • To integrate technology into all phases of instruction and develop new models of instruction based on the latest instructional technologies.
  • To provide faculty, students and staff with easy-to-use collaborative environments and network access to the information they need for study, teaching, research and administration.
  • To develop high levels of technological competence in the college’s faculty and students.
  • To increase access to high performance computational services in support of ongoing research and graduate training through the local computational resources as well as connections to major national and international facilities. 
  • To initiate systematic college-wide strategic planning of information resources and technologies that include all students, faculty, administrators, staff. 
  • To conduct  Natoinal level student seminar on latest  trends of technology once in every two years. 
    To strengthen the R/D work in the fields of Biometrics and BioInformatics by using existing facilities by making MOU's with Multi National Companies.

    * Accreiated By NBA of AICTE for Three Years With Effect from 2008.

    * Accreiated By Tata Consultancy Services.

    * Received Status of Permanent Application with JNTUK,Kakinada for three years Since July 2010.

About Labs...

IT has three laboratories:-

1) ADVANCED PROGRAMMING LAB-52 systems

2)DATABASE AND DATAWARE HOUSING LAB-52 systems

3)OBJECT ORIENTED SYSTEM LAB-56 systems

                      BIOMETRIC LAB has established with 35 systems.

 
having a total of 146 systems. The labs are provided  with  necessary  licenced  software's  as  per JNTU syllabus and provided networking facility.They are also provided VIDEO CONFERENCING facility for lectures
