The CISCO Networking Academy Programme was launched in October 1997 with 64 academies in the US. Today, it has more than 10,000 academies in 151 countries.

We have joined the Cisco Networking Academy Programme and started its local academy on 9.10.2003.

Cisco Systems international is the world wide leader in networking for the internet. The Cisco Company has promoted a programme called Cisco Ntworking Academy Proramme which is designed to teach various levels of students on how to design, build and maintain computer networks for local, national and global business. We have acquired all the required Cisco equipment (routers, switces etc.,) from Cisco authorized suppliers. We have selected four of our staff members as instructos for this programme. All the instructors have training in Kean School of Excellence, IIIT, Hyderabad in two phases, each for period of 21 days.

Joining this program enabled us prepare students for industry certification: CCNA, CCNP, ComPTIA's A+ Certification, Sun Certified Programmer for Java TM2 platform. Presently we are preparing students for CCNA (a comprehensive 4 semester 280 Hr course that trains students to design, build and maintain complex computer networks).

The academy programme successfully prepares graduates for IT realted jobs in the public and private sectors offering several career paths: Network Specialists, Computing Hardware and Software Specialists, Programmers, Advanced degress etc.,

The instruction is online with multimedia delivery, face to face instructin and hands on experience. The programme uses a blended learning model. The curriculum is delivered over the internet to classrooms with certified instructors and specialized equipment.

1. The standards-based curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration as well as practicl knowledge.
2. Academy students don't just read about networking. They build networks and complte hands-on exercises in specially equipped labs.
3. Certified instructors use a variety of teaching and learning activities to help students master the content. Multimedia options address a variety of learning styles.
4. And embedded assessment provides students, instructors, Cisco with immediate fedback about progress and effctiveness.

Academy students complete 25,000 online tests daily. Cisco uses test results to dynamically update and improve curriculum.

So far 22 students completed their training course. Presently 32 students are undergoing training.
